Just a short ferry ride from Fremantle or Perth, Rottnest Island has long been Western Australia’s holiday destination of choice.

With 63 gorgeous beaches, a fantastic range of guided tours and packages and some excellent places to stay, ‘Rotto’ is perfectly set-up for families, groups, couples and solo adventures.

This beautiful island also offers 45kms of walking trails, a fascinating cultural heritage and amazing native wildlife, including a colony of New Zealand fur seals and around 10,000 adorable quokkas. Swim, snorkel, hike, bike or just laze on the sand – this pocket-sized paradise really does have something for everyone.

Ferry was great, lovely staff, loved the zooper dooper handed out on the ferry for my slight nausea..........but watch where you park.Long stay parking not well sign posted for interstate tourist unfamiliar with the area and copped a significant fine. 😬 Leave a good time to find the long stay parking and walk further to the ferry terminal.

We took the premium ferry from Barrack st, Perth and it was above and beyond what we expected. Excellent service, spacious seats with beautiful views. The food and drink selection was superb, and there even was a guided tour associated with the ride. I must admit I was really impressed with what they were able to deliver. We even were provided bikes to ride the island directly which saved us so much time, we were able to explore straight away. We also did the Eco Express Adventure boat ride and wow that was something else! We got to see all of the island along with dolphins and seals up close. HIGHLY recommend, already planning to do this all again.

The staff provided excellent service and were exceptionally welcoming, even offering us complimentary ice cream, which was a thoughtful gesture. However, I personally found the prices to be somewhat excessive for what was offered. Additionally, the island itself felt overly commercialized and crowded with tourists, which detracted from the overall experience and made it unlikely that I would choose to visit again. That being said, the boat trip was enjoyable and provided a relaxing way to take in the surrounding scenery.

The B Shed pier is about a 5 minutes walk from the station. You could get on the ferry directly with your QR code but it never hurts to ask for confirmation first. Staff would offer an island map and a ferry schedule for your reference.
