Just a short ferry ride from Fremantle or Perth, Rottnest Island has long been Western Australia’s holiday destination of choice.

With 63 gorgeous beaches, a fantastic range of guided tours and packages and some excellent places to stay, ‘Rotto’ is perfectly set-up for families, groups, couples and solo adventures.

This beautiful island also offers 45kms of walking trails, a fascinating cultural heritage and amazing native wildlife, including a colony of New Zealand fur seals and around 10,000 adorable quokkas. Swim, snorkel, hike, bike or just laze on the sand – this pocket-sized paradise really does have something for everyone.

Ferry ride was smooth. Onboarding and offboarding was efficient. However, there was no information about parking among the online information documents sent to me via email. As we are unfamiliar with the terminal, it would be nice to have handy info where to park best for the day. Luckily there is Wilson Parking available in front of shed C (zone 3), where one could park for the whole day. The nearby car parks only allow 3hrs. I had to go around in circles and finally had to actually get off the car and ask someone where I could park. Overall, travel experience was great.

Rottnest Express Ferry provides a seamless and efficient service for travelers looking to explore the stunning Rottnest Island. The service is notably on-time, ensuring both departures and arrivals are punctual, which is a major advantage for those with tight schedules.Departure options are convenient, with ferries leaving from two locations: Perth and Fremantle. This flexibility allows travelers to choose the most suitable starting point based on their location.When it comes to ticket options, Rottnest Express offers three types: Single Ticket, Return Ticket, and Day Package. The pricing is clear and varied, catering to different needs:- The Single Ticket from Rottnest to Fremantle for adults is AUD 39.- The Single Ticket from Perth to Rottnest for adults is AUD 61.Keep in mind that these prices do not include the Rottnest Admission Fee for adults, which is AUD 40, and there is a credit card surcharge of around AUD 5.Additionally, there are several useful add-ons available. You can rent a bike, or if you bring your own, there is a small charge. There are also fantastic experiences such as the Discovery Bus Tour, which is a 90-minute guided tour with photo stops, and the Adventure Rottnest Thrill Ride, a 45-minute fast boat ride offering unique views of the rugged Rottnest coastline from the water. This includes return ferry transfers from Barrack Street, Perth.These additional experiences can be chosen initially as part of a Day Package, or added on afterwards when selecting a One Way or Return ticket. It's highly convenient and allows for a tailored experience based on your interests.If you opt for the Bus Discovery add-on, Rottnest Express will inform you of the bus departure location. It's worth noting that this specific location isn't yet listed on Google Maps, but it is not far from the main Google Maps point for "Rottnest Island."

Not cheap for the tickets. On time departure. Do be there early, the ferry was so full, there were limited available seats . The staff were kind and came to help people find seats.We were there at 4pm for the 430pm departure and the whole ferry was already full!
