To get to Rottnest Island from Fremantle, you can take a ferry from the B-Shed Ferry Terminal in Fremantle. The ferry ride takes approximately 25-30 minutes. Yes, it is highly recommended to book your Rottnest Island ferry in advance to ensure availability, especially during peak season (December to February) and weekends. You can book your ferry tickets online or by phone through various providers. It is best to check the ferry schedules and book your tickets in advance to avoid disappointment.

We advise that all passengers arrive at the terminal at least 30 minutes prior to departure. This allows enough time to park vehicles, label and load luggage/bikes, and collect your ferry tickets. If you are travelling with no luggage or freight and have an e-ticket or QR code, please make your way straight to the boarding gate. Final Boarding is 5 minutes prior to departure, after which the vessel gangways are removed to ensure the vessel departs on time. Unfortunately, we are unable to delay ferries for passengers who are not ready to board.
