Terms & Conditions

  • Pre-bookings are essential and subject to availability. A Red Rider Annual Pass is not a guarantee of seat availability.
  • The mandatory government Rottnest Island admission fee (currently $20.50 same-day or $27.50 extended stay) is payable prior to each journey. The savings amount is based on the ferry fare only.
  • Please note that each pass is strictly valid for one adult only and are non-transferable and non-refundable and valid for up to a maximum of 10 return trips per annum.
  • Red Rider Pass travel is strictly for the person named on the pass. Misuse can result in your card being cancelled immediately without refund.
  • A limited quantity of Red Rider Annual Passes are available each year and strictly limited to one pass per person per annum.
  • The Red Rider Annual Pass is valid for ferry fares only.
  • Valid for travel on any day of the year and is able to be used for one-way, same day and extended stay return ferry journeys departing from B Shed and Northport terminals, subject to availability.
  • Red Rider Annual Passes are valid for a 12-month period from the date of purchase, all bookings and travel must be booked within the 12-month period.
  • Member benefits are subject to change at the discretion of third-party providers at any time. These additional benefits do not form part of the Red Rider Annual Pass.

What is the Rottnest Island Admission fee?

The Rottnest Island Admission fee is collected on behalf of the Rottnest Island Authority and the admission fee contributes to the provision and upkeep of facilities and the conservation of the Island for generations to come. All visitors entering the Rottnest Island A-class Reserve, are required to pay an admission fee. Visitors arriving by ferry pay this fee as part of their fare and it is payable at the time of booking.

The Rottnest Island Admission fee is subject to change at the discretion of the Rottnest Island Authority and is not within the control of Rottnest Express as a carrier.
