Join Rottnest Express in the greatest quokka search Rotto has ever seen! It’s a school holidays activity that’s fun for the entire family, and this year it’s in partnership with the Rottnest Foundation, meaning your participation supports quokka conservation on Rottnest Island.
All you need to do to take part is book travel to Rottnest Island between 26th September – 11th October 2026 and pick up your activity sheet before hopping on the ferry. Then, let the search begin! Simply spot all 10 quokka characters hidden at popular island locations and businesses, and hand your completed activity sheet to a team member to WIN your Rottnest Foundation quokka conservation hero prize*.
Don’t forget to scan the QR code on each quokka character you spot to uncover their quirky fun fact, trivia, riddle or rhyme.

The Rottnest Foundation is an independent Western Australian charity, established in 1985, dedicated to protecting Rottnest Island’s environment, culture and heritage, including the famous (and adorable) quokkas!
Rottnest is home to the world’s largest known quokka population. Despite this, quokkas are classified as vulnerable, and their future depends on ongoing research, monitoring and habitat management. This is where the Foundation comes in with:

All you have to do to take part in The Great Rottnest Express Quokka Search is purchase a ferry ticket with an eligible Quokka Club membership for a departure between 26th September – 11th October 2026.
Then just collect your activity sheet for each participant from the reservations desk prior to boarding your ferry to Rottnest Island, all further instructions are above and on the sheet.
This offer is to all Quokka Club members, if you are not yet a member and are under 12 years of age and a WA resident you can sign-up via our website. Then simply purchase your ticket to travel using your membership and collect your Quokka Club passport from our reservations desk.
Please note that we require you to sign up online prior to arriving at the terminal.
We promise that all of the quokka posters are in easy to find locations within a 20-minute walk of the main jetty, however if you are really struggling to find all of the 10 eggs there is a solutions list linked above for parents to access.
