Rottnest Island, or ‘Rotto’ as we locals like to call it, is an iconic island paradise just a 30-minute ferry ride off the coast of Perth. Home to the happiest animal on the planet, the Quokka, it’s the perfect family holiday destination for all kinds of fun and relaxation. With 63 pristine beaches, kilometres of bike trails, 2 lighthouses and multiple places to eat and drink, visiting Rotto is really a no brainer!
There’s also a range of accommodation available on the island, from luxurious resorts to fun glamping experiences and cosy family cabins; you’re sure to feel at home wherever you end up on Rottnest Island. There are also plenty of exciting activities to fill your days with on Rotto, from exploring one of the many beaches to guided bus tours and adventure boat rides.
In winter, some of our favourite activities include exploring the island’s many tracks by bike or Segway – if you’re feeling a little more adventurous. And after exploring the island, we love to enjoy some super delicious pizza and beverages at Frankie’s on Rotto – you can even say hi to our friendly Quokkas while you’re there.
Reminder: There are no cars allowed on our beautiful island, so bikes are the best way to get around. Remember to add your hire bikes to your ferry booking.
